Why become a Community Partner?
Community is about building a collective sense of belonging and helping those who need it the most. You can help people in your community by providing transportation to medical appointments like dialysis, physical therapy and wound care. These people depend on non-emergency transportation to ensure they get the care they need to stay healthy.

What’s in it for me?
Flexible schedules, compensation, and a sense of pride in helping your fellow community members.

Who will I serve?
Medicaid Recipients who need transportation to and from medical appointments.

What requirements do I have to meet?
Community partners should meet the following qualifications:

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Have an acceptable motor vehicle record
  • Be able to provide a negative drug screen
  • Be able to pass a criminal background check
  • Be able to complete training (PASS, defensive driving, First Aid)

What kind of vehicle do I need?
Community partners need a vehicle that:

  • Is safe and in good condition
  • Has valid registration
  • Has current insurance

How am I reimbursed?
Community partners are paid a per-mile rate for each trip.

About Transdev
As the state contracted broker for Ohana Health Plan, Transdev manages NEMT services throughout the Hawaiian Islands of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and Hawaii. Our general duties include, transportation provider credentialing, training, education, customer service, reservations and scheduling, dispatch and routing, trip monitoring and quality assurance, complaints and appeals, and claims.
